We look forward to a cutting-edge scientific program focused on synthesizing the best scientific insights and how that knowledge should inform neurosurgery skills in our contexts. Our program is developed by 2027 program chair Kara Parikh, MD of UAB Medicine.

Program Highlights:

  • In-depth lectures from leaders representing neurosurgical training programs throughout the South
  • Debates on controversies in neurosurgery
  • Support for pediatric neurosurgeons: Why was the Society of Pediatric Neuro-Oncology formed? 
  • Downing Lecturer John T. Edge, author of Southern food history books House of Smoke and The Potlikker Papers, will give us a tour of southern history through flavor
  • Honored Lecturers Daniel Prevedello, Dan Barrow, and Judy Huang
  • Free papers from young and established surgeons highlighting the latest research
